Boss Spoken To Fletch & Jarvo
Having sitting down and speaking to both Steven Fletcher and Matt Jarvis about their futures, Ståle Solbakken will be speaking to every member of the squad on a one-to-one basis as he continues to hone his plans for the new season.
It's well documented that Fletcher and Jarvis are being targeted by Premier League clubs, given their form in the top flight, but Solbakken has repeated that they remain under contract unless an offer comes in which is accepted.
The manager said, "With Jarvis and Fletcher the situation is as it should be, they probably think that's an opportunity.
I spoke to both of them yesterday and it's always like this when you have a contract with a football club and you have other possibilities. You have to be open minded and you have to be ready for every outcome and I think both of them are.
At the moment, they're Wolverhampton players, but there can be big fish out there who suddenly come in with an offer that's a once in a lifetime offer for them and also a very good deal for the club. We have to make sure we're ready for that.
I expect them to honour the contract while I'm here, 100%. Both said they had no problem with that, but on the other hand they also have in their minds that the situation could change and it would be naive and stupid to sit here and say they'll play for us no matter what. That's how it is."
