The Road To Recovery

Wayne Hennessey is making good progress from the cruciate ligament injury picked up back in April and he remains on course to return before the end of the year.

The keeper has been working on his rehab after an intensive summer of treatment, but won't be rushed back given the seriousness of the injury. A return date around October/November remains likely if all goes well.

Ståle Solbakken said, "He's still back in November I think. It's one thing to be injury free and then you need training practice and match practice and it can last longer."

Another player on the recovery path from injury is Jamie O'Hara, who looks set to return to full training after also being a regular visitor to the treatment room this summer, receiving treatment on his groin injury.

Elsewhere, forgotten man Steven Mouyokolo is also making progress recovering from a back injury picked up on loan at Sochaux last season.

Solbakken said, "Jamie shouldn't be too long now and I'll be very surprised if he doesn't train fully with us in Ireland next week, but Steven still has some weeks to go before he can compete for a place."
