Forest To Raid The Pack

Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cotterill will consider making a bid of around £1m for a double raid on Wolves, once the Kuwaiti takeover of the club is completed.

Cotterill is is hopeful of getting the green light to begin rebuilding his squad in the near future, as the Al-Hasawi family edge closer to securing a deal to buy the Championship club, and he will begin his recruitment campaign by trying to sign Adlene Guedioura and George Elokobi.

The pair were both on loan at Forest last season, with Guedioura scoring once in 19 games and Elokobi providing muscle at the back on 12 occasions.

Wolves paid around £2m to sign Guedioura from Charleroi in 2010, but he only has 1 year left on his contract. He is understood to be enthusiastic about a permanent move to Forest after playing a key role in their successful fight against relegation and could be available for around £750k.

Cotterill will be hoping he gets the green light to swoop for the Algerian sooner rather than later, as Brighton are also understood to be interested.

As for Elokobi, who also played an important role on loan in the East Midlands last season, is future with Wolves may be less clear cut, as he is the only senior back up to Stephen Ward, who has been linked with a move to Everton to replace Leighton Baines, who looks set to leave for Manchester United.

Jamie Reckord is waiting in the wings, but will Solbakken move him into the squad and sell Elokobi? Time will tell. If so, it is understood that Forest could land him with a bid of 300k, the ammount Wolves paid Colchester for his services.
