Hemmings Signs For Walsall

Walsall have announced the signing of former Wolves man, Ashley Hemmings, on a 2 year deal.

After signing for Wolves at the age of 9, Hemmings came through the youth system and made 3 first team appearances before being released at the end of last season.

Hemmings had loan spells away from Molineux at Cheltenham, Torquay and Plymouth as well as representing England at U17 level in 2007.

Walsall manager Dean Smith said, "He's an exciting talent, who I've watched many times for Wolves' reserves. I also had him watched 3 or 4 times whilst he was on loan at Plymouth and I think that that run of games has really helped his development.

He is a very promising youngster who will continue to develop and grow. He's a skilful player with genuine pace. He's a good addition and I'm looking forward to working with him."

Following signing for the Saddlers, Hemmings tweeted "I can happily say I've joined Walsall FC. Thanks you for all the welcome tweets from the Walsall fans. An thank for all the tweets from my followers saying good luck. Thank you all."
