Solbakken: The Team Is More Important Than Individuals
Ståle Solbakken insists his team will be more important than the role of any individual if they are to enjoy a successful return to the Championship.
The boss will be spending time with players this week as they report back for fitness testing, having met them briefly at the end of last season, and he ensures that the team mentality is strong in terms of providing a solid and organised base ahead of the tough test in the Championship.
He said, "It's important to organise a team well and at Copenhagen, that was our main strength. At Cologne last season, we struggled to do that, because some players were very old fashioned and they didn't want to buy into it because they thought they knew best.
some players have to sacrifice themselves for the good of the team. Each player will not shine on every occasion, but the team will be better and that is a core thing for me. Maybe certain players may think they can only play a certain way or certain position, but that that isn't the best for the team."
